Then you should further use a waterproofing system so that it can withstand the effects of nature all throughout the years you will use this protective gear.

In purchasing a pair of motorcycle boots, you should get one that is water resistant rather than a one which is water repellant. Water resistant boots is a pair that can effectively resist water and keep it out. In contrast, a water repellant boot comes with an outer coating which prevents water from entering the boots but this kind of boots cannot withstand heavy rains.

There are quite a few ways in which you can waterproof your boots. This system is besides the system that manufacturers do it. Waxes can be used to coat the outside of the boots to keep water from entering them. Sometimes beeswax is used to waterproof leather boots. These can be bought at Walmart, your neighborhood craft shops or other discount stores.

The process will usually begin by removing all the debris and clumps of dirt on your boots using a dry towel. A soft cloth with beeswax is then rubbed into the boots in a circular motion. Make certain the beeswax is spread evenly especially on the heel and toe area. You can now place the boots on a dry place where the beeswax will be able to penetrate into the leather completely. Remove any extra wax with a soft cloth. The coating will last at approximately a year. You can strip the coat off each year using leather soap and a damp cloth. Then you can repeat the procedure all over again.

Since many motorcycle boots are made out of leather such as Double h boots, the process of waterproofing is essential because leather is not tolerant to moisture. If you really want your boots to last for many years, you should not overlook waterproofing it whether or not the weather is wet. Rain often comes unexpectedly so it is significant that you prepare your boots or you might be regretting it later.
