If you don’t use ink pens and gel pens for a long time, will the dry out?

By ink, I don’t mean ball point pens. I mean the other pens, the ones with the nice flowy ink? I had a couple of uniball signo pens and I was wondering if they would work after the next 10 years or something. Would they dry out even if I don’t use them? Would I have to use them occasionally in order to ensure they still work? Is it the same for gel pens?

When storing them put them in a container (glass, cup) with the tip down–some say if u put them in the fridge they will last longer too. After a time u might have to clean the tip with a little alcohol. If after ten years I don’t know that is a long time to wait and by then there will be a better type of pen to use anyway..
