Noa, perfect execution, elegant arrangements

An authentic passion culminated in an album and a tour. Naples and its musical tradition Noa are not simply songs but “mood”. Tuesday evening at the Teatro Politeama of Catanzaro, in the event “Civilization is a woman” by Wanda Ferro and organized by Ruggero Pegna, Israeli singer, presenting “Noapolis”, his new album, showed that there are no boundaries in music.

On stage with his friend, guitarist Gil Dor and, Neapolitans, Solis String Quartet, Noa gave birth to a concert of rarà intensity and beauty. The perfection of classic runs finished runners-up and the elegance of arrangements of the musicians they put on display, if proof were needed, the magnitude of an artist who, while singing in Neapolitan dialect, it has moved away from its usual standard of interpretation. Not simple proofreading to conquer a new slice of the public, but a desired choice from time to reread those delicate frescoes have always been etched in the collective memory. Those incredible suggestions have been able to give the audience a unique warmth and a deep passion, an unconditional love for that repertoire.

Were the Solis String Quartet to open the concert with “Mozartango” incredible fusion between “Adagio and Fugue in c minor K 546″ by Mozart and “Libertango” by Astor Piazzolla, who with his progressive gait has managed food waiting to listen the “Israel scugnizza”. Prior to grapple with the songs from his new album, Noa has extracted from the cylinder a superb running “Mishaela” has always been one of the most beloved by fans, now considered one of her signature roles. And it is now. The mood already present status “Napule ca ‘ se ne va”, a song of happiness contagious manifesto of the people. Noa has a peculiarity hardly noticeable in many singers: theatricality. His exemplary “hear” what is astonishing, and makes the audience joins in with her, she lives the same sensations.

The operatic tension of “Villanella che all’acqua vai”, “Fenesta vascia” and “Sia maledetta l’acqua”, they represented the world and suffered from the neapolitan song, lived intensely by Noa. After a brief return to its roots with “Yuma” and “I don’t know” reappears on the not-too-distant memories of his life, his being the emigrant, “because in every family there is a history of emigration”, and “‘A cartolina ‘e Napule” and “Santa Lucia luntana” where the jobs and places do not count and become the world without boundaries or membership. Noa loves to communicate with the public, his Italian who occasionally gets “stuck” makes it more humane.

Despite his frail figure is a strong personality, a way to keep the stage without forcing, almost was conceived to play this role. Ripples with tenderness and “suffer” the nostalgic when she sings “I’ te vurria vasà”, “Era de maggio”, “Torna a Surriento” and a guitar and vocals from shudder of “Autunno”, written by Totò. The melancholy leaves space to a newfound joy with “Alla fiera di Mastrandrea”, a version in Hebrew of “Lili Kangy”, for the opportunity to become “Nini Kangy”, triggered percussion and a uncontainable “Tamurriata nera” with the audience complicit with frenetic hand-clapping. Even more fun. On the basis of “Keren or” first thanked all his traveling companions, technicians and musicians then Wiggles singing in his own language. Impossible not to request Encores. And now, almost apologizing for “trivial”, here it is grappling with “Beautiful that way” from the theme of the film Benigni “La vita è bella”. It’s the last farewell, but everybody would ask her to continue singing.
