Hosted Call Recording: The traditional organized Hosted Call Recording is normally found on site or in the offices of the company. Information on key system, PBX gateways, PBX, or communications servers and VoIP are collected and massaged by the Hosted Call Recording software. System tends to store information such as name of customer and transaction activity of the disk (or, more generally, call detail records (CDR).The methods of delivery CDR data are as varied as the manufacturers. The great majority of manufacturers still offer CDR through a real time serial (RS 232) link. Some of the more modern and IP-based systems offer date stamped files pushed or pulled through file transfer protocol (FTP). Some vendors utilize a syslog to deliver CDR data and others utilize proprietary protocols that require registration to their various partner programs. More recent iPBX vendors provide access to information through online databases for extraction by external applications. The voice related data collected usually includes calling party, date, time, duration, destination party and authorization or account code.These businesses often require accurate telemanagement information to allocate costs and track activity. Hosted call accounting removes the need for inhouse software. The service helps companies more accurately manage telecom expenses without any investment in equipment or expertise.
