How do I turn off the automatic sync in itunes without pluging in my ipod?
My last laptop crashed, so when we got a new one, I realized that I can’t plug in my ipod without erasing the entire ipod! I know how to transfer the songs to the computer library, but first I need to figure out how to turn off auto-sync on my itunes. How do I do that? Thanks! 
The ironic catch 22 here is that that can only be done once the ipod is detected by itunes on it’s summary page, but once it’s done you won’t have to redo it again, it stays off.
You can stop the sync first. Click on the eject arrow icon of the ipod over to the left after you select not to auto sync.
